06Google API Data

This section applies if you choose to sign in to the Platform with a Google account or to connect Google Drive to the Platform (together, the “Google Integrations”). It describes how Rippit accesses, uses, stores, and shares information received from Google APIs (“Google API Data”) and supplements the rest of this Privacy Policy. If anything in this section conflicts with another provision of this Privacy Policy, this section controls with respect to Google API Data.

  • What Google API Data We Access. Depending on the Google Integrations you enable and the permissions you grant on Google’s consent screen, Rippit may access: (i) basic Google account information – your name, email address, and profile picture – when you use Google to sign up for or sign in to the Platform; and (ii) Google Drive content, meaning the names, metadata, and contents of the files you select through the Google file picker or, if you grant broader Drive access, of the files and folders in the Google Drive or shared drives you choose to connect. Rippit does not request access to Gmail, Google Calendar, or Google Contacts. We request only the Google permissions (scopes) needed for the features you use, and you can review the specific permissions requested on Google’s consent screen before granting them.
  • How We Use Google API Data. We use Google account information solely to create and authenticate your Platform account and to associate you with your organization’s Customer workspace. We use Google Drive content solely to provide the Drive features that you or your organization request, namely: (a) importing the files you select (for example, conversation transcripts, exports, or spreadsheets) into your organization’s Platform workspace as conversation or business data to be analyzed; (b) using the documents you select (for example, quality rubrics, policies, or knowledge base articles) as context for the Platform’s AI-powered features, such as scoring, insights, and reports, on your organization’s data; (c) creating or updating files in the Google Drive location you designate when you export Platform data (for example, reports or worksheets) back to Google Drive; and (d) periodically re-reading connected files or folders where you or your organization have configured an automation or scheduled sync. Rippit does not use Google API Data for any purpose other than providing and improving these user-facing features.
  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Google Workspace API data is not used to develop, improve, or train generalized or non-personalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models. Any AI processing of Google Drive content is performed solely to deliver the features you request, within your organization’s workspace. Where Rippit relies on contracted third-party model providers to perform that processing, those providers are contractually prohibited from using your data to train or improve their models.
  • How We Share Google API Data. We do not sell Google API Data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Google Drive content that you connect may be accessed by: (a) authorized users within your organization’s Customer workspace, in accordance with the roles and permissions your organization configures; (b) automations and workflows that you or your organization configure on the Platform; and (c) Rippit’s service providers – including our cloud hosting providers and contracted AI model providers – solely to the extent necessary to perform the features described above and subject to confidentiality and data-processing obligations. Rippit personnel do not read Google API Data except (i) with your explicit permission (for example, to resolve a support request you have raised), (ii) as necessary for security purposes, such as investigating abuse or a security incident, (iii) to comply with applicable law, or (iv) where the data has been aggregated and de-identified for internal operations. We may also disclose Google API Data in the limited circumstances described under “Enforcement of Rights,” “Security, Compliance with Law,” and “Business Transfer” in the section entitled “How We Disclose Your Personal Information” above; in the case of a merger, acquisition, or other business transfer, we will do so only in compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including obtaining explicit consent where required.
  • Storage and Security. Google API Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure located in the United States and is encrypted in transit and at rest. Google OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored in encrypted form and are used only to perform the Google Integrations you have enabled. We limit access to Google API Data to the personnel and systems that require it to operate the Platform. For more information about our security practices, please see the section entitled “Data Security” above and our Trust Center at https://trust.rippit.com.
  • Retention, Disconnection, and Deletion. You may disconnect a Google Integration at any time through the Platform’s integration settings or by revoking Rippit’s access in your Google account security settings at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. When you disconnect, Rippit stops accessing your Google account and Google Drive and deletes the associated Google access and refresh tokens. Copies of Google Drive content that have already been imported into your organization’s Platform workspace remain part of that workspace, because other users in your organization may rely on them, and are retained in accordance with your organization’s agreement with Rippit and the retention settings your organization has configured. You or your organization’s administrator may request deletion of imported Google API Data at any time by using the Platform’s deletion tools or by contacting us at privacy@rippit.com, and we will delete it within thirty (30) days of a verified request, except where we are required by law to retain it. When a Customer’s agreement with Rippit terminates, we delete or de-identify all Google API Data associated with that Customer in accordance with that agreement. Residual copies held in backups are purged in the ordinary course of our backup rotation cycle.
  • Limited Use Disclosure. Rippit’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
  • Relationship to the Rest of This Privacy Policy. The general statements elsewhere in this Privacy Policy regarding advertising, marketing communications, the use or sharing of aggregated or de-identified information, and any disclosure that could constitute a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information do not apply to Google API Data. We do not use Google API Data for advertising of any kind, we do not sell it, and we do not create de-identified or aggregated data sets from Google Drive content except as necessary to operate the Platform and as permitted by the Limited Use requirements. Google API Data that we process on behalf of a Customer is processed as a service provider in accordance with that Customer’s instructions, as described in the introduction to this Privacy Policy. If we change the way we use Google API Data, we will update this section and notify you as described under “Updates to Our Privacy Policy” below.
